City of Munich  100% Renewable Energy Goal: 100% Renewable Electricity for Households by 2015 Munich, Germany In 2009, the third largest city in Germany committed to a goal of reaching 100% renewable electricity for households by 2015 and for all users by 2025. According to World Future Council, the city has already reached the 17% renewable electricity mark—equivalent to about 140,000 households. Technologies include solar, biomass, hydropower, wind, and combined heat and power.
